Blessings

We don't always know exactly why we are experiencing different times in our lives but God is never going to leave us. We pray that God blesses us and he answers our prayers just the way we want Him to. Laura Story got it right...What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise.

Just yesterday I made the drive to Knoxville, TN to honor the life of a woman that was truly after God's own heart. We walked into a funeral and realized quickly that we were in church! It was amazing to see how even on her death bed she still praised God. Looking back on how much the family has been through these last couple of months, it can be so hard to praise God. This family not only celebrated the life of a wife, mother and grandmother but they also spent the previous day celebrating the life of their grandfather. I cannot even imagine what this family is going in the midst of their grief of losing two members they loved very much in a such a small amount of time.

As I waited in the receiving of friends lines with one of brothers friends all the emotions came using back. It is hard to explain to someone who is standing next to you that you understand 100% of what the family is going through. You have to take comfort in the Lord knowing that he will never give you more than you can handle.

Who would have ever thought that years after mom died from her battle with cancer I, along with my brothers and dad would be comforting a family friends who now have to walk in the same shoes. Our own trial might just be the blessing that this family needs. We are able to answer questions and completely understand the emotions that are running their mind right now.

We don't know why God has us travel through the trials but one day we will. We just have to wait to find out. We only see a small thread of this life while God sees the whole tapestry.
